Does this government really disdain workers that much that they are happy to undermine their own austerity agenda if it means they are able to force workers into the office more often?
This government likes to whine about their “operational budget” and a “bloated” public service, but then rolls back one of the easiest methods to both reduce costs and improve working conditions.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this is supposed to be one of their methods to try to push more workers to leave, so they can claim the cuts are coming from attrition.
