It’s almost like everyone who voted for Mulroney the second time around were never told what the eventual outcome would be . . .

    2. Please post the whole quote. He said they we waited too long, but the time is now to go harder into it. The dollar is losing value and will continue to lose value at this rate.

I really hope we can right the ship. That’s why I’m actually thankful for the rhetoric coming from the US now. The need for this really needs to hit home. The US is run by narcissists now. It’s shocking how quickly people snap back to „the threat wasn’t real.“

    4. It’s been the official policy of the federal government to diversify trade since the Chrétien years.

It’s hard to diversify away from a rich, large, consumerist neighbouring country. The US represented about 3/4 of our export volume when Trump was sworn in, which is a lot but also down from the peak of about 9/10.

I don’t know what the theoretical minimum can be even as we sign more FTAs and support businesses with shifting to Europe and beyond, but it’s probably not that low.

Selling to America is just too easy.

Thanks captain hindsight. You’ve saved the day again. I hope we’re paying you a lot of money for this timely insight that isn’t completely obvious at this point.
