    1. See how easy it is for a Democrat to stand by the „vote blue no matter who“ motto?

    2. Oldschoolhype2 on

Better than Schumer, Torres, Jeffries, Goldman, Gillibrand at least. Primary them all.

    3. naththegrath10 on

Still better than most Dem leaders but damn this half-ass donor approved message is the exact reason she lost

    4. Holiday_Leek_1143 on

Hot take: I really liked her answer to this question. Yes, Mamdani is making incredible strides, but a NYC mayor only affects the NYC residents. We need nationwide recognition and support in the Democratic party for grassroot candidates like Mamdani, and I think that’s the point she’s trying to drive home with her answer.

    5. futanari_kaisa on

Sounds like she learned nothing from her election loss. Wishy-washy tepid responses to policy questions don’t inspire people to vote for you.

    6. edgar_jomfru on

Liberals always tell us to hold our nose and vote blue, I give her credit for doing at least that much. The rest of the democratic party is having trouble swallowing its own medicine

    7. He is fucking Democrat ( period) anyone saying otherwise is playing in to Trump ! Don’t bring new name tags, Instead speak your policies and explain why they help new Yorkers. At the end of the day he is Democrat nominee selected by people.

    8. A lot of these comments are stupid as shit, because she’s right. Pair this stupid headline with 50 headlines the past month of the media building a narrative of division with person after person not backing the guy. She’s still calling the guy a star.

      >“I support the Democrat in the race, sure. But let me just say this: He’s not the only star,“ Harris said, going on to highlight Democrats running for mayor in cities across the country.

      >“So I hope that we don’t so over-index on New York City that we lose sight of the stars throughout our country who are right now running for mayor and many other offices, governor and so on,” Harris said. “So that’s where I am. We got a big tent and we got a lot of stars.”

So Harris saying she supports him in the election because he is a Democrat is not enough? Is she supposed to vocally endorse this guy just because he won the Democratic Mayoral Primary in NYC?

Mamdani didn’t endorse her, and supported the Uncommitted movement, which helped Trump get a second term.

He is getting way more than he gave here.

    10. A tepid response from any establishment democrat is a glowing endorsement in my mind.

If you’re not excited about him for being too progressive, I’m ecstatic.

    11. redwhiskie319 on

„But, notably, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, both New Yorkers, have not yet given him their backing“.

Atta boy centrist dems. Keep doing this. Permanent minority status is in your future…

    12. Flat_Lion_7210 on

It drives me so insane seeing Trumpers paint Harris as some lunatic communist. Meanwhile, Zohran is too far left for her, and he’d be a center lefty in any other country.

    13. Mr_TreeBeard on

She was the better choice in 24 by far, but I feel she’s still just a weak Democrat like Shumer and Jeffries. This was disappointing, especially how quickly she switched the topic to other mayoral races. We need to replace our entire leadership in the democratic party with actual progressives.

    14. great, a rec, we got it she doesn’t love it, who cares. we all know what we need to do anyway. don’t waste energy on this shit. primary Schumer, Jeffries and the rest of diet maga and let’s be done with the drama. how about that economic boycott y’all?

    15. LittleBird35 on

I don’t care if I’m downvoted, but she’s allowed to give whatever kind of response she wants to give about Mamdani. She’s not a NYC resident, so what she thinks isn’t going to tip the scale anyway.

In addition, the very people who said that she needed to “earn their vote” are the same ones who are now saying that Mamdani needs full support, no matter what and that’s hypocritical. If we want to talk about how politicians must be critiqued, why is Mamdani not subjected to the same scrutiny?

I am going to vote for him in November, but he’s a a savior. It’s so disappointing to me because we could have had a president and a mayor who are much more politically aligned with each other. Instead, we’re here.

    16. thesk8rguitarist on

This is why Democrats can’t win. We can’t have the fucking balls to stand up for any one person.

      Disgrace.

    17. Saturnboy13 on

It could be better, but I appreciate that she’s at least sticking to „vote blue, no matter who“ unlike her hypocritical cohorts.

    18. RancidVagYogurt1776 on

Internet leftists are an odd group of people and I’m okay with saying that. There will never be an election I don’t vote blue in, I’ll never abstain or waste my vote, always blue. Sometimes that will mean voting for a leftist in a primary, and that’ll mean voting for either a leftist or lib in the general, but the constant purity tests from leftists are so tiring lol. An endorsement is an endorsement, just take the win instead of whining that it wasn’t glowing.

    19. OphidianSun on

Lmao he’s so far ahead of everybody else he forced her hand. The establishment dems HATE that zohran is making them pretend to be a real party cause the dems are perfectly happy to sit back and do nothing no matter what happens.

But doing things? Actually experimenting and trying to fix problems? The party hates that. It endangers their donors. Especially from a man calling himself a socialist.

It has been an absolute joy to watch then squirm as he dodges their attempts to sabotage him. Cause his money comes from grass roots, they don’t have the leverage they’re used to having over newer more „radical“ party members.

    20. FoolishFriend0505 on

Did Zohran endorse Harris for POTUS or any other dems for their run? No, then fuck him.

    21. BahGawdAlmightay on

This is such a bullshit headline. She endorsed him, full stop. She then said he shouldn’t be the only person people are talking about when there are races nationwide with important stakes as well, which is true.

    22. „Look, as far as I’m concerned, he’s the Democratic nominee and he should be supported,“ Harris said

That doesn’t sound tepid to me. Sounds 100% on board. Misleadeading headline.

    23. She gave the endorsement, can we not self sabotage by questioning the purity of said endorsement?

We gotta take every win as a win at this point.

    24. BrightAd6272 on

„***Look, as far as I’m concerned, he’s the Democratic nominee and he should be supported***,“ Harris said when asked about her thoughts on Mamdani and why some in the party have been slow to back him.

„***I support the Democrat in the race, sure. But let me just say this: He’s not the only star,“ Harris said, going on to highlight Democrats running for mayor in cities across the country.***“

“***So I hope that we don’t so over-index on New York City that we lose sight of the stars throughout our country who are right now running for mayor and many other offices, governor and so on,”*** Harris said. ***“So that’s where I am. We got a big tent and we got a lot of stars.***”

NBC trying to start shit and being petty like all the other shit-stirring msm.

    25. infamous_merkin on

Sounds like she endorses whomever is the democratic runner after the primary.

      I do the same thing.

    26. WowWhatABillyBadass on

      Vote progressive no matter who.

Sure it doesn’t rhyme, bur at least you’ll start winning again.

    27. I’m so tired of these bullshit establish Democrats not listening to their base. We want Mamdani. Mamdani is the future. Not this bullshit liberal bowing to corporations and capitulation to fascists.

    28. The democratic party’s propensity for self-defeat is unbelievable. Not *vehemently* supporting your most popular candidates is certainly a choice.
