I randomly found the video on YouTube yesterday. At first, I thought it was a movie. I was surprised to see the comments on the video and wanted to share these images here.

The pershing crew was lucky that the panther crew think it was an ally tank…

By 1945 that Panther was probably filled with geriatrics and children the Germans conscripted out of desperation.

Just finished reading the book „Spearhead“, was about the tankers in this tank and their battles all the way into Germany. The American gunner had PTSD for decades after this due to a car careening through the battle, and a young woman – and her boss – being killed. He felt responsible for her death. Really good book if anyone’s interested. Thanks for posting.

Always thought this was some sort of propaganda film. The whole thing seems a little staged.

Is it just me, or did the AI audio said Allah AKHBAR in the 14th second?

There is a YT channel called „Battle Guide“ he explains in great detail exactly what’s happening and who was involved, including the names of the crews of both tanks

Kölner Dom was still beautiful back then

Looks straight out of Saving Private Ryan. Anyone know if Spielberg based a lot of the final battle off of this footage?
EDIT: Nevermind. The original footage is black and white so this was likely colorized and upscaled by AI in the style of Saving Private Ryan.

so was it the pershing that got cooked off or was it the panther? genuinely confused here tbh
just going by the helmets of the dudes at the end, it feels like the Americans won this round…

Reminds me of the scene in Band of Brothers with the [hidden Tiger](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iI691zeXxT8) tank.
This looks highly enhanced from the last time I saw it
