This is very bad when combined with very low birth rates and +10% unemployment figures.

Aha.. so that’s why we are the happiest country in the world.. year after year… 25% is retired, with earned pension + savings + paid of mortgage years ago.

    3. As long as those old fuckers are paying their fair share into the system (and not just hoarding their assets until death to pass on to their freeloading kids).

    4. The curse of europe. This is what happens when the concentration of wealth is in few hands and having a family is only for the rich

Woah, that’s not good. They need to start having babies again, or prepare for unsustainable immigration and robot overlords.

    6. A fifth of the population with a low birth rate and an unemployment rate near 10%….

No wonder. Finland’s birth rates have been below replacement level since the late 1960s. It’s only thanks to immigration that the population has been kept stable at 5.5 million during the last 10-15 years. Without it, it would’ve been at around 4.8 million or below now.

So what now? Make a bunch of babies in an economy with 10% unemployment rate? Where we could lose our job any minute and fight with hundreds if not more for the same position? Where cost of living is sky high especially in the areas where the jobs are available aka the bigger cities? Next to a country that’s not exactly known for keeping to themselves and not invade others? Thanks but no thanks. Got my tubes removed.

    9. Based on official info. 23.6% is over the age of 65. About 1 million under 18, ~17.9%. Aged 0-14 is 14.6% leaving 15-18 at 3.3%, subtract from aged 15-64 61.9% leaves 58.6% and then subtract students 3.1%. So total working aged people make up 55.5%.

And finally subtract unemployment rounded to 10% and you left with 45-46%.

This is really rough math. And done quickly with stats I was able to find.

Doesn’t look great for the future.
