They’re 100% right. Strange that this isn’t happening all over the country. You would have thought the Humboldt Broncos crash would have been enough of a wake up call on the many problems in that industry. Apparently not.
Really anyone who uses the roadways should be protesting what’s going on at this point.
The trucking industry in Canada is simultaneously stringently controlled regulation wise, but seemingly no real ability to enforce anything.
Look at Vancouver and the dump trucks from the same company keep crashing into bridges with the bin up and yet they get hit with fines in the low thousands of dollars and just move their truck registration to Alberta?
In Ontario you have people that clearly don’t have much experience driving on ontario roads buying their commercial drivers license, faking their hours and then hitting the roads.
Obviously there was that case recently in Flordia where someone who bought their license killed 3 people by making an insane u turn on the highway.
Unfortunately Transport Canada hasn’t updated us with stats since 2021. But we can clearly see an increase in 2021 after we started brining in TFWs to dilute salaries after covid.

My impression is that truckers hate picky vehicle inspections. It must be really bad if they’re calling for more.
