If you want to address obesity, loneliness, unfulfilling careers, and so on, I’d probably take a look at public policy and how the economy is organized before I’d recommend reframing things in terms of evolutionary psychology at the individual level. A mountain of self-help books about positive thinking and fresh perspective aren’t going to help you afford a house.

      This article just feels like it is recommending more of the same broken approach, although it’s hard to even identify what it is recommending at all (other than the author’s book). Want to really change people’s lives? Give them affordable healthcare, third spaces, meaningful career opportunities, time to spend with their family, and inexpensive grocery stores that stock healthy food. Pay for it by taxing the hell out of the rich.
