The problem with Palantir isn’t only the American origin, but what it does. Even European alternatives are unethical, a threat to democracy and our rights to privacy.
There are some digital services for which we would want to replace the US solution with a European one.
For mass surveillance, I would prefer to replace the US solution with none.
Palantir being American is not the only problem with it or even the biggest one…

An european alternative still doesn‘t make what Palantir does ethical. But, that being said, it‘s not an excuse to just buy all the unethical stuff from the americans like we did with arms until recently. If it must exist, I‘d rather have it under european authority where it will be much easier to regulate.

What the fck!!! Palantir is used by some German police?!?!!! And for what??? Evil company and an absolute threat to European sovereignty!
Other than the data storage issue, why the need for such specific platforms when the average data analytics platform can do the same? From what I’ve read, Palantir might be even worse in some cases compared to something like Databricks. Only thing I can think of is that they offer forward deployed engineers for implementation and that they’re familiar with processing non-public protocols.
