I think the most reasonable course of action would be to launch an invasion, regardless of how many years and trillions of dollars to get the job done. Plus it’ll help establish a foothold in the larger middle east area.

Next we will be reading about crashed black hawks outside of Bagram, let’s hope not eh? Chump is stupid enough to try.

So let me get this straight… Trump signs an executive order to remove the US from Afghanistan, abandoning the US bases there, and says we shouldn’t be in Afghanistan. Then in his next term he wants that base back. For free. What changed? Do we suddenly want US troops in Afghanistan again now? Why do we need that base that, to be clear, Trump gave them?

    4. CobblerMoney9605 on

So Trump wants to retake the base that he ordered abandoned.

      Idiot.

    5. „Its Biden’s fault for doing exactly what I ordered to be done when I was President, in accordance with the timeline I decided on when I was President.“

    6. Man we’re getting an Afghan sequel already??
Hope US gen Z is ready for their turn at forever war!

I’m gonna be honest with you. I have no real want to ever have to go back there again personally so they can keep it.

    8. Lol it’s literally calling a bluff, what are you gonna do, invade Afghanistan again?

    9. No-Message8847 on

As they should. He made the plan to withdraw in the first place. Biden went through with it and fucked it all up but did it. Now what? What defense contractor bribed him to want to go back? The entire base will need rebuilt and that sounds expensive. Nobody in that country will trust us, as they shouldn’t. It will be endless rockets being shot at the base.

Somebody wants to make some money. Drone and hellfire missile sales have taken a dip and we need to go back apparently.

Trump writes Sins and Tragedies and the Taliban chimes in, this calls for a toast.

When the Taliban spokesperson seems reasonable compared to the dupe in the White House…

Gahahahahaha! You want an airport back just cause you built it! Hahahaha! The answer is no! Release the Epstein files!

Lol, Trump was the one who forced us to leave the base and Afghanistan.

    16. SERVEDwellButNoTips on

The Taliban better get ready for some strongly worded tweets IN ALL CAPS!!!

It was never about leaving Afghanistan, it was about sabotaging ~~Biden~~. America.

    18. I remember when Trump got thousands of Taliban POWs released so he could negotiate a surrender agreement with the Taliban. His whole agreement ignored the Afghan Government we propped up for 20 years. He’s whole surrender agreement to the Taliban was for them to slowly retake the country, until we completely pulled out. Which was conveniently scheduled for a few months after what Trump hoped would be his 2nd inauguration.

As bad as the withdrawal was under Biden, it would have been way worse had it occurred months earlier under Trumps original plan. Since the only reason we stayed a few months longer was an attempt to evacuate people who would have been screwed if the military just got yanked out. Like many American contractors and Afghan allies who helped our service personnel for decades and were promised help in getting special visas, that Trump ignores and slow-walked his whole previous administration.

MAGA would have just dismissed it as ‘Not our problem’ or ‘Afghans should have fought for their own country’, but their narrative changed because POTUS was a Democrat.

    19. Why don’t the Taliban want a former invader with a military base in their country

    20. Time to go to War against the Taliban. Can we use Kirk’s memory for this?

      1. Trump orders withdrawal plans
      2. Biden follows through on withdrawal plans
      3. Republicans say withdrawal was a disaster
      4. Trump invades Afghanistan again because Diaper Don needs a war, any war

    22. SoldatPixel on

It would be hilarious if they invite Russia to use the base. Trump did demand that they return it to the people who built it.

    23. lostsailorlivefree on

PLEASE some reporter ask: “prez trump the tally think yer a bitch and want you as a dancing tea boy, would you consider visiting “?

    24. Key-Monk6159 on

I don’t want it back but it’s a sin that we left it intact and useable.

    25. upfromashes on

Okay, now Trump needs to get serious.

Send CF Vance in there to shame them into compliance with a stern, „Have you even thanked Trump *once* for the many, many bases he gifted you?“

    26. Afganistan 2.0? But but but. He dosent start wars, so the Department of War will just bomb whatever is left of the base.
