    1. Ironically they just saved a lot of people a lot of money. The Whitehouse clarified that it doesn’t apply to existing H-1B holders. And the $100,000 is only for new H-1B applicants.

      >Within two hours of Trump’s statement, the cost of a one-way ticket from New Delhi to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport jumped from approximately $420 (Rs 37,000) to between $794 and $908 (Rs 70,000–80,000).

That’s wild that a 14+ hr one way ticket from New Delhi to New York costs as much as a round trip domestic flight

It’s one thing to hate people in your country on visa’s, its a whole different level of fucked up to delay their departure so they have to pay hundreds of thousands of dollar to your government before they leave anyway. America, you’re full of fucking scumbags.

    4. Im genuinely not trying to be obtuse but what does this mean exactly? Wouldn’t they still have an H1B visa if they came back to the US? What does them flying to the US solve exactly?

    5. Just for shits and giggles I was checking flight prices a couple of hours after this was announced. Prices were higher, but nothing remotely close to how high they were in COVID when US gave a 2 days heads up to borders closing. I had extended family pay $4k one way, per person in economy.

Anyone who knows, what can you tell me about this hacker known as ‚4CHAN‘?

What kind of stupidity is this? White House clarified that it doesn’t apply to existing holders. All they did was buy overpriced flight tickets from Air India which nobody would have bought anyways even under panic. Connecting flights are far more cheaper and efficient.

Who has the money to be playing these types of games? That is still 400$ on the cheap end per seat.

Why does all this H-1B thing seem to disproportionately center on India..? Why’s that?

So much to unpack in this title, what does 4chan have to do with this?

I work in supply chain for a danish company. This weekend I know of six colleagues who “had a family emergency” and had to go home…

twelve years ago my impression of 4chan was that it was a cesspool of undesirable attitudes whose primary purpose was to normalize socially corrosive behaviour, to amplify resentment, and endorse neonazi attitudes. and nothing i have seen from these people since then has modified my opinion at all.

    14. Didn’t the 🍊💩 just beg foreign workers to come back to the US to train Americans for American jobs? But now wants foreign workers to pay $100,000 to come to the US for work visas and to potentially train US workers? Make it make sense.

    15. Not surprising! A ticket from Bay Area to Austin on a Sunday 1 way is 500 bucks, wtf is that
