    1. and the constitutional outrages will continue until the Supreme Court says, ‚*tut-tut*.‘

Oh, but he won’t be able to silence them for good. Not if our favorite late-night hosts set up an independent podcast.

We’re talking about corporations in a capitalist economy. Why in the holy hell would they EVER care more about free speech than profits? The system was designed this way.

As soon as they realize no one wants to watch Trump TV they’ll get the message.

Wut? So the President is going to silence media he doesnt like until what now?

    6. Eventually Americans will be too broke, sick, and insane, to spend money on the products sold by the corporations who pay the politicians to fuck the whole world over. In my mind? That’s the only way this era of nightmares comes to an ugly end. I just cannot foresee anyone with money or power choosing to disrupt the very system that props them up to begin with.

    7. Does he not know that media being driven by truth over profits would be bad for him?

    8. Broadcasters value NOTHING more than profits.

If they couldn’t make a profit they would do something else.

    9. profits? They’re not gaining profits. They’re buying nuremberg trial dates.

      Keep track  Keep record.

    10. The CEOs doing these big mergers/acquisitions get big pay days, so it’s not necessarily the companies making profit, but the executives. The FTC should NOT be allowing consolidation of these media companies which reduce or eliminate competition. Trump is using the FTC, FCC, and DOJ to silence critics. Need more grass root efforts like boycotting Disney to have any impact. We already know that the MAGA controlled congress and MAGA controlled SCOTUS won’t do anything.

    11. That’s a bleak way to put it. Profits can purchase a speech pass. It may not be free, but it’s still cheaper than giving up all profits for free speech. The big companies will never do it unless some Centauri traditional politics start getting employed by people looking to get promoted to CEO.

    12. Im exercising my free speech and boycotting all things ABC/Disney/Hulu/Nexstar indefinitely!

Newsflash. Corporations don’t value anything over profits. Only way to stop them is with boycotts for their traitorous behavior.

    14. Free speech is required for a free market media landscape.

Media companies are digging their own grave and won’t realize until nobody wants to watch or pay subscriptions for neutered entertainment.

    15. Title reads like Trump is trying to get broadcasters to reduce their drive for profit in favor of free speech. Weird.

This is so dumb. It assumes that the populace has no choice when it comes to profit of these companies, as if people spending money with them is a given.

Broadcasters will always care about profits, but people can make the lack of free / accurate speech unprofitable.

They’ll be censoring the internet in addition to broadcast media. He’s rolling it out slowly. The only way to cook a lobster is by slowly raising the temperature. Meat gets stringy otherwise.

Reward companies that fight back with your money. Stop buying things from the ones that don’t.
