As a retired US Army Officer, if any govt employee identifies themselves and follows the rules of law, there are no issues. There is a reason why in the Army we have nametags and receive training and ethics classes. What ICE needs to do is follow the same order. To hide, no training is what is causing the problem. I can understand the extent of the issue, but it starts at the top of all leadership to be the example of doing the right thing.

Or maybe it’s the fact that masked men without badges are disappearing people (including over 70 American Citizens) and deporting them to foreign torture gulags.

Nah it’s not them terrorizing communities and kidnapping people. Couldn’t be that at all.

Maybe stop doing heinous shit and people would stop calling you out?

It’s weird because I don’t recall people being this anti-ICE in the past. Could something have changed to cause this sentiment?

No, the anti-ICE rhetoric is not driving an increase in attacks.
The fact that ICE thugs are attacking legal immigrants and US citizens alike, wearing masks, with no identification given, in what amounts to broad-daylight kidnapping, is what is driving an increase in attacks.
The illegal and unconscionable actions of ICE drive both the rhetoric *and* the citizens defending themselves.
It is, as it always is, directly the fault of Republicans, for which they continually screech and scream and try to cast blame elsewhere.

It is clear now through the homan case being dropped, threough the epstein file coverup, through the classification of trans people as terrorists, through the direction of the attorney general to bring charges against opponents to save face that this administration has no interest in using its power for justice. Every action is self serving and not for the good of the American people. I will not trust a single thing the administration says until it is verified by democratic oversight. This is just a new talking point to advance the war on free speech and civil liberties.

Somehow I’ve missed the stories on ICE agents being wounded or killed in the line of duty, so either they’re lying about these attacks, or Americans, the single most armed populice in the western world, are really, really incompetent assailants.

It is terrifying to know that masked individuals may show up some day, not identify themselves, handcuff me, put me in a van, and take me to what basically amounts to a black site (ie. No one knows where I am and cannot speak out) just because I have darker skin and speak Spanish.
Legal IDs are being dismissed as fake, they indiscriminately target anyone and everyone who might add to their quota, they target community leaders, essential workers, parents with kids, mothers breastfeeding infants…
This ICE is not welcome in my community.

Very strange, I could’ve sworn it was the ICE agents in Broadview, IL shooting tear gas and pepper balls and dragging protestors around for the crime of sitting on public sidewalks this past week

Not rhetoric so much as… y’know… fucking video evidence of masked unidentified thugs marauding through our towns and terrorizing people who are otherwise minding their own business.
That’s not rhetoric. That’s fact.

Yeah, it’s not the rhetoric, it’s the behavior of ICE creating these dangers.

Only 1000%? Not one-billion percent?
Rhetoric about masked thugs chasing pregnant women down in the streets? That kind of Rhetoric?
They have actual numbers for that? Or is this like when Trump said drug prices were going to drop by %1000+ percent?
Abolishing ICE needs to be a litmus test for any Democratic Presidential Candidate in 2028.
I wish this was true.
I think I know what opinion will be declared terrorism next
> The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Wednesday warned that political rhetoric targeting U.S. immigration enforcement is fueling violence
No I think it’s the ICE agents themselves and the administration in general that’s fueling violence with their gestapo.
And it was going on well before any Democrat ever said anything.
That’s so unfortunate. Anyway. Fuck ICE.
People ignoring the constitution and pissed off at consequences annoyed?
Like the rhetoric on transgender people is putting them in danger? Is that the kind of rhetoric. Of course this is a rhetorical question
C’mon people! Those are rookie numbers!
That’s like saying the rhetoric against you caused you to shoot your dog.
ICE gets a lot hate but it’s not enough. We can do better.
Percentages without baseline numbers aren’t helpful.
So, let me reference the official June DHS statistics of the 500% increase.
