    1. I see these popping up every now and then. This seems to me like a pretty regular thing in Germany, especially in the cities that sustained heavy bombing like Cologne, Berlin or Dresden.

      I might be totally misremembering this, but I swear I read somewhere around the 2006 World Cup that the Berlin stadium (where the final was played) had an unexploded WWII bomb buried under the pitch. I kept thinking back then, like… how did Hertha play there for decades with a bomb under the field :S And apparently they only found it during the renovation works for the World Cup.

      80 plus years later and still finding reminders of this war, in urban areas no less. Over 60 million killed, world forever changed. A brutal time in our history.

      I always asked myself if someone dies by a WW2 bomb nowadays, does the person count as WW2 victim?
