I love mushroom foraging. It’s like playing Pokemon Go (never play it, though). In the country where I was born (Poland), it’s a part of the culture, whole family gather and spend time together walking in the forests and look for treasures. Then we dry them, freeze or eat right away. They are a big part of our cuisine. I love scrambled eggs with butter and wild mushrooms or potato pancakes with wild mushroom sauce (shit,l… I just got hungry). This is the best part of autumn imo, luckily I live in a place where I usually find some. Unfortunately, there are not many natural forests left in Ireland, and the rest is usually sprayed with anti fungal chemicals. I’m not a mushroom expert, but I can recognise the most common edible ones, and the most important rule with mushrooms is : „If you are not sure if it’s edible, do not eat it“.
