We legit need a complete overhaul of our political system. Too much power in too few hands

America needs total revamp of the government starting from Trump.
You cannot have a clean government without corrupt Supreme Court Justices.
They must also be impeached.
It’s not that Americans are deers in the headlights – it’s that Americans are too disengaged with each other and we have no civic leaders who aren’t politicians speaking up and uniting us. It’s complicated and I don’t see many shaking off the veil.
Trump is more and more behaving like a Soviet Fascist and none has the spine to tell him anything.
Not even one journalist ever questions him about what he says and what he does. It’s disgusting how even the Epstein files have been handled.
It’s a political failing, but at it’s core it’s an issue with the whole society that got everyone here.
America breeds an „Every man for themselves“ mentality, always has done. The message has always been YOU can make it if YOU work hard enough. It’s always been painted as positive, when reality it’s instructions on how to climb (over everyone else) to the top.
It should be shocking to no one, that when the requirement to band together to fix problems comes, Americans are left clueless.
This is the country that would rather pay 5k for an ambulance, than all band together to ensure everyone has healthcare… because they might end up paying for a few freeloaders in that system, and that’s just unacceptable… they’d rather pay more for less, to make sure people they deem are not working hard enough, don’t get help.
Why on earth would your fellow American try to help your fellow American, when they could instead try to personally mitigate some damage and hope to end up coming out of this slightly better than other people? Relative progress is still getting ahead, even if it’s a net loss for everyone combined.
Why would an American who isn’t personally bothered or affected this part of free speech being attacked, care if another American is bothered? That’s not how they were raised.
The Individual, American Dream everyone. Trump is literally the poster child of how it should be done. Why isn’t everyone proud of that?
Boiling frogs since Nixon’s impeachment. It took a few decades before the machine of change really made an impact and now the far right coup is almost complete. J6 should have triggered everyone from centrists to progressives to organize but it didn’t.

Americans are hoping that if they shop at Walmart and eat more McDonalds everything will be ok….
What are the options? Protesting doesn’t work. Calling our representatives doesn’t move the needle. Complaining on social media feels good in the moment, but is useless (and probably more detrimental)… what ARE our options? Besides going and buying a gun… which I vehemently oppose, but am starting to believe is all that is left to me…
Maybe in general yes, but the reason fascism and authoritarianism rises up is there are enough people in positions of power, authority, and propaganda that agree with the fascism and authoritarianism. That’s how America got here. I would say the number one reason is how the fascist Propaganda spread and took over all American media including TV with Fox News, and obviously online social media, and we literally even have American podcasts like Tim Pool who are on Russian payroll. It’s been an orchestrated effort, and as Hillary Clinton said years ago (and they called her crazy) that there is a right wing conspiracy. This is what she’s been talking about. The Democrats have been proven right time and time again on all major issues.
Democrats are dear in headlights. His base is loving all of this.
Far worse than that, a country that fought Nazi’s and did the hard shit at great risk to self is now terrified of about everything and only care about self preservation.

Deer in the headlights are nothing out of the ordinary, and standing still is their evolutionary response to danger.
A population of 350 million people doing literally nothing while their democracy is turned into a fascist regime has nothing to do with evolution.
It’s simply pathetic.
