      >“I literally have zero people in my team,“ she said

If this is true asking to employee a few people to run your office is entirely reasonable.

This seems like a pretty reasonable request – whether you agree with her politics or not, she’s the elected Mayor for one million people.

Those voters have a right to try and contact her, and just like MPs and Ministers, she’s obviously not going to have the time to respond to every email individually. A couple of staff in her office to draft responses and manage her diary is hardly a lavish luxury for a senior politician.

    3. I have more more emails than that a month, plus, she could get a junior for 20 or 30k a year to sort those emails out.

Hold up! She a Dame? And won an election to be Mayor somewhere? Wow. The things you miss when ignoring what where once irrelevant and idiot tories.

Can’t she get the Reform DOGE to find the savings for her?

Isn’t that what she promised the electorate? Less cost, not more?

Or perhaps those naughty people in Lincolnshire could stop emailing her, asking her to do her fucking job?

Say there is 20 weekdays in a month, that’s 125 emails a day, that’s not 147k a year worth of work, if it was I’d be a millionaire. Sure if she has no staff she should get some but its not adding up, where are the staff that were involved in her election? she must have had a PA etc.

    7. She already has an office budget of £115,000 a year for precisely this – which is the same amount that former PM’s can draw to similarly employ staff.

Why does it suddenly need to increase 127%?

I deeply dislike Jenkyns, but if you don’t have any staff, £150k to hire a few administrators isn’t really an absurd expense.

    9. I’m more curious how they managed to overspend so much on running the actual election..

Unfortunately I live in Lincolnshire, and close to Andrea’s „home“ in the county… actual locals in her village think she’s barely ever living/staying there and it’s a very wealthy/nice village too.

We were only ever going to get a reform mayor here. We’re the county where people freaked out about EU nationals doing seasonal work here around 2000-2015, just because they were from Eastern Europe. She peddled nonsense about DEI county council staff needing to be sacked when, newsflash *Andrea*, this is a county where we can’t even have regular buses running until normal times, or street lamps on windy shitty potholey roads.

She also kept saying during and after her mayoral win we were going to have a Lincolnshire DOGE to cut 10% of county council jobs… funny she’s shut up about that now she needs staff because she’s *soooooo* busy writing songs for her Reform conference performances.

Poor widdle Andrea. Won’t someone *think* of our poor widdle mayor working from her very fancy home in Yorkshire, not giving a toss about the people she’s supposed to serve. *Yak*

Yet another incompetent Reform muppet that has no place in public office.
