Bogdan, imprisoned by President Aleksandar Vučić’s oppressive regime after a protest in Novi Sad, Serbia, was informed of his father’s death five days later. He has now been on hunger strike for a week. Information about his hunger strike was withheld from his lawyer and mother for several days.

Imagine being an Albanian living in Kosovo during Serbia’s regime in the 90s.
Jovicic has been on hunger strike for at least 5 days after his 30 day detention was extended for another 30 days. He was arrested during a protest in Novi Sad. Pictures of him with leg irons at his father’s funeral were posted on social media networks. The police said that he was not handcuffed so he could shake hands with mourners.

Really, the ironic thing is that this is not the standard procedure, as proven by photos of notorious prisoners at their families‘ funerals without shackles around their ankles.
