      The democrats are not in power–see last November for details. This will never pass. The Republicans will stop it.

      I really hope people vote next year to put people who believe in our democracy back in power of one of the 3 branches of government. Then you will get your impeachment and checks and balances.

      This is dumb, it won’t work, and every charge they successfully dodge makes them stronger. I don’t know what the strategy should be but this ain’t it.

      This makes sense to me – the GOP wont want to go along with these votes, but it also insulates both from dismissal.

      As someone who is very hard on the Democratic Party, this at least is one lawmaker trying to fight. It doesn’t matter if it will obviously not result in an impeachment, let alone a removal. It signals that the opposition party is actually interested in doing something oppositional. They have to do 200 stronger things as well, but it doesn’t make sense to endlessly criticize them for being silent and then shrug when they use at least one tool of parliamentary power to try to make change. Every Democrat should be flooding the House calendar with impeachments–it isn’t like there isn’t enough material of criminality, corruption and abuse of power.
