Like him or not, I feel like tom Cruise is probably a legend NOW. At least his career is.
He is the biggest star of his era, people tend to remember the biggest stars from any era. I knew the name Sidney Poitier long before I ever saw a film he stared in.
He’s a legend already. Cruise has been an A-list actor longer than most people on Reddit have been alive.
He’s right. Cruise has this kind of stardom that was rarely achieved in any entertainment/arts field. Most of the people like his movies, they’re mostly huge hits and he was able to maintain that momentum basically for all his career for over 40 years. So I agree, in a hundred years everyone will look at his run (pun intended) with awe. Although seeing how the business is going lately I’m starting to think that in a hundred years most of the people won’t care about cinema very much, maybe even it won’t exist anymore?
No matter your opinion of him as a person I don’t think this is untrue. An A lister for at least 4 decades, as influential in the stunt world as the greats like Bruce Lee, Charlie Chaplin, Jackie Chan, and has made himself into the personification of the movie theatre-going experience over the last 5-10 years PR wise (the latter being naturally or corporately manufactured up for debate).
A racist thinks a scentologist will be a legend. They sure are desperate to hold on to thay shit legacy.
