I feel like we knew this. Did we know this already? Maybe I just assumed he was murdered.
Poisoning. At least he didn’t fall out of a window or drown in his pool like so many many many others
I think everyone knew this. They’ve tried to poison him before and Russia has a history of poisoning people they want dead yet want plausible deniability from.
Seeing as he was in jail the usual „fell from a window“ deal wasn’t an option, they had to kill him in a way that looked natural while being responsible for his overall well being (not like they give af about that outside public appearances) so I think just more of less confirms what we already knew & generally agreed was the true cause of death.

Whether the exact murder method was poisoning or simply a denial of healthcare for problems caused by his unjust imprisonment, doesn’t really seem important at all to me. It’s murder all the same.
