    1. MNDAA and TNLA stand for Myanmar Nationalities Democratic Alliance Army and Ta’ang National Liberation Army, respectively.

The first group is an ethnic Han Chinese-majority militia. They used to attack the junta and capture a few cities (this was most likely recorded during the first phase of Operation 1027 where a lot of the fighting was done by the group). The TNLA also majorly participated in 1027.

However, the MNDAA under Chinese pressure relinquished some of their gains to the junta, and now they no longer largely fight. TNLA, in contrast, is still fighting the junta, but the junta is taking back some territory. It’s still a war of attrition.

Add on to that, the largest non-state armed group in Burma, the UWSA, is no longer [supplying many weapons ](https://www.irrawaddy.com/news/myanmar-china-watch/under-chinese-pressure-myanmars-uwsp-cuts-off-support-to-allied-ethnic-armies.html)to both groups. UWSA is „neutral“ in this conflict.

That’s such a sad reality. People think about war and even if they die they imagine it would be heroic. I don’t know what it is exactly, but him being shot and dying with his ass in the air is just so undignified.
