Who cares? Until Israel & the Palestinians agree, all this virtue signaling crap does absolutely nothing…

Ok….let’s play this out. Palestine is recognized and then attacks Israel…..Israel can now legally occupy Palestine and crush it, and Palestine is in an infinitely worse position then now where Israel has to pretend its occupying it but the Palestinians run their lives. Where is the flaw in my logic?

World to remember state of Luxembourg exists who will then recognise state of Palestine.

147 UN member states did before Hamas launched the attack. This is routine

All this is just meaningless talk unless you provide details on exactly what Palestine you would recognize under exactly what conditions.
Who would be the leader of Palestine? Hamas? The PA?
Would you recognize a country with a government that is a designated terrorist organization that holds hostages?
Would you recognize two countries – Gaza and the West Bank? Or one country split in two with completely different governments?
Or recognize the entire region as one Palestine and remove Israel as a recognized state?
Did they actually talk to Hamas and the PA and ask them whether they actually want a two-state solution?

> Last week, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced the EU executive would take a harder stance toward Israel over the war
And are we going to take a harder stance on Palestine for refusing to surrender or make deals? No? We’re instead going to reward them with recognition? Okay.

If this is all political theater then , why is Smotrich so eager to expand Israeli settlements as much as possible? If recognizing Palestine is meaningless then why Israel reacting to this so strongly?
You can’t say it’s meaningless then start a settlement expansion plan with the intention of stopping a Palestinian state .
