Not a Kirk fan, but he was a man with a family and young children who was publicly shot to death because he was daring to express some unpopular views in a public forum.
It’s kind of tone deaf for a left wing journalist to skip right over his assassination and use the opportunity presented by his murder to declare how violent the right wing is. People just seem so unwilling to admit their side has violent whackadoos on it, too.

The implication here being that is was right and proper that Kirk should have feared for his.

This is the kinda shit that tells you where the CPC is at. This goes beyond the standard „denouncing violence“ fare and into active participation in the outrage. They know Kirk fans and CPC voters have overlapping venn diagrams and instead of toeing the line, they’re jumping in head first.
Not only does it anger me but it also seems foolish. America is starting to burn, and the CPC wants to get involved? Why? Have they learned nothing from the election?
What did Rachel Gilmore say exactly? She quite often makes controversial remarks to gain some relevance, then tries to garner support by claiming to be a victim when those controversial remarks get some backlash.
Wouldn’t be the first time she’s used this playbook.
Rachel definitely is an annoying journalist that can push buttons but she’s been getting this visceral hatred for years I remember the hate she was getting during the freedom convoy era it’s unnecessary
We need a divorce, the relationship between the far right Reform Party and the right of center Progressive Conservatives isn’t working for Canada. We need our old Progressive Conservatives, the party of Brian Mulroney and Joe Clark, back. The problem is that that party has largely disappeared. The merger between the two party was more of a hostile takeover than a merger.
Maybe it’s time for a core of reasonable moderate conservatives to come together and start a new party.
The CPC continues to try and court far right and white supremacist voters. We saw this throughout Poilievre’s leadership, like with his support for the Convoy and Diagolon.
Unfortunately, the CPC leadership has already gone the way of the GOP and brought that illiberal rot into mainstream Canadian politics.
Why are CPC members in Canada literally copying MAGA talking points? What is the reason for this? They lost the election, why double down on it? Internal polling must show it’s still having an impact on their targeted voting demographics. Cynical and disturbing.

I don’t understand Scheer’s point. Her point is completely valid and not hateful at all.
I wonder what Scheer thinks kicked off the world wars?
I do not like this. I don’t like her being targeted. She’s a good person and doesn’t deserve that. Andrew Scheer is irresponsible for putting her on the sights of the American Far right.
There should be some sort of consequence for that. That whole fucking website is literally a hit list
