    1. What a terrible selection of candidates. Can we just give Mickey D another term and call it a day?

Who ever is the campaign and PR manager for him is either a genius, who wanted notice with stupid videos…..

or a complete fucking clown, who isn’t remotely vested in Irish personality and ability to see through chancers

The geniuses at FF hq probably realised a Dublin GAA figure might not have broad appeal amongst their typical voter base.

    4. I actually laughed when the camera followed him crouching down at the end to pet a dog. It’s like they asked chatgpt to script a presidential pr video

I despise people who do that thing with their thumb while talking to you like a political debate kinda shite. Wanker

The whole thing just screams Charlie Haughey. I grew up rural and this video send such bad vibes.

It’s like a baddie character who rocks up in Glenroe in a new SUV with some scheme to do Miley out of the farm with notions of “progress” and a new shopping centre.

Like could he not have leaned on the GAA stuff to cross that rural/urban divide.

He won’t be wearing those pants to the ploughing next week.

Was it his first day speaking in his life? Sounds like a robot. Surely they could’ve done a few more takes here and there.

When you ask an AI trained on american campaign ads to write one for President of Ireland

Bark twice if you need rescuing! Jim isn’t fooling anyone with the way he closed over that gate

    10. On a farm, in white trousers and a white shirt, and didn’t close the gate. His ad is as fake as himself.

    11. Has Jim done any interview?

Interesting there was a thousand tillage farmers in a room on Friday night and not one FF politician in attendance. This comes across as the most disingenuous drivel I’ve seen in a while.

Lol, this sort of American / Partridge cheese makes me trust him even less.

Apparently Americans lap this sort of stuff up. Feels fake to me. Guess we’ll find out if it works on the median Irish person.

I don’t really like any of the 3 nominated candidates – they are not as good as any president we’ve had in the last 5 terms over 35 years.

    14. I don’t always farm, but when I do I do it in white chinos and a wax jacket.

    15. Forgive my lack of knowledge here, but would a German Shepherd be a common farm dog?

Prick left the gate open too. Bet he’ll be nowhere to be seen when the cattle are all over the road in the pissing rain and everyone’s in a foul humour…

First time he has talked to a farmer since commiserating with Mayo players after an All Ireland

There’s a tinge of Alan Partridge off this yes. I respect the man for putting himself forward. I respect him for what he did for our national games. But I can’t support him. This here is cringe, and the „Israel have achieved their military objectives“ comments are quite chilling. He looks at this as a war game, and though it’s on the laptop.

He just looks like a guy whod roll up beside a group of kids in a banger and try to sell them fire works.
