They’re so blinded by hatred for this nameless and faceless “they” and convinced that they’re fully justified and vindicated in their beliefs that they cannot see what they’re doing. It’s like a holy war to them. There is no logic, it’s just the culmination of 10 years of targeted and high cynical propaganda that has slowly ramped up, under a leader who has never once tried to pumped the brakes and instead cultivates the hate and fear for his benefit.
