Canadian here. The majority of Indian students came to Canada to attend diploma mills (effectively fake schools), with the hope to achieve permanent residency. A student visa also allows students to work legally, this has resulted in an influx of Indian students working at for e-bike food delivery apps or at entry level jobs (fast food etc.)
This has been a direct cause in youth unemployment rising by 50% in our largest cities.
Well known scam is run by Indian students is that they borrow enough money to show they can support themselves when immigration officers demand proof. And when it’s been checked they return the money plus a hefty fee to borrowers. They never has the funds to support themselves so that why they have to be working.
