    1. It clearly is because conservativism is very obviously anathema to the what’s actually good for the working class, but yeah, people still fall for it anyways so politically it makes sense for them to pretend to be for the working class as a strategy. Unfortunate for the rest of us though

    2. Recent neuroscience has identified brain structure differences between conservative and progressive people well enough that they can tell which a person is with 70% accuracy by a brain scan. Conservatives tend to have larger than average amygdala which indicates greater fear and less nuance about decisions which could describe a lot of current working class people and may explain why this factor could override self interest.
      Yes I still think it’s hypocritical with a possible explanation.

      When progressive politics take combative positions with industries that employ trades and non-skilled labour, it’s more of “who is still at the bar after last call” versus alignment of values.
