    1. Expect nothing less from this guy. Before the identity of the shooter is even known, with the Democratic leadership universally condemning the violence, immediately laying the groundwork to label the Democratic party as domestic terrorists.

Meanwhile when Melissa Hortman was assassinated, the GOP was caught between downplaying it or outright mocking it.

I read somewhere they wanted this to be their „Reichstag“. I see they weren’t that wrong. It also speaks volumes about who benefits from this guy’s death. Epstein files? Pedophilia? what’s that???

    3. luciddream00 on

Well, considering he was already going full authoritarian as fast as he could this sorta falls flat as a threat.

Charlie called for the release of the Epstein files on September 8th and then gets shot dead September 10th.

      Who does that benefit most?

    5. he declared war on the left in his 2015 campaign. it’s like saying, „trump chose a combover again today“

For the MAGA crowd participating in r/politics, If you’re upset about what is being said about Kirk, just remember

Trump has shared images of truck decals showing Biden being hog tied.

„Hang Mike Pence!“ was chanted on the steps of the US Capitol building on Jan 6th.

Pelosi’s husband was mocked on Fox News after being attacked in his home with a hammer.

This isn’t just a left or right problem, we need to stop fighting each other and come together as *Americans* and resolve this. We can work together to make this country work for all of us.

We’re being lead down a very dark path by people who don’t have American interests at heart. And as much as you don’t want to hear it, Trump is one of them.

To be fair, he already declared those wars. He is using this to distract from the terrible economy, the fact that people hate his policies and his involvement with Epstein.

looks like the usa fascist have their martyr. If you’ve seen/read man in the high castle this is their thomas smith, or in real history horst wessel

Trump is in on it. We don’t have to throw people out of windows. It’s way easier here.

That was fast. Almost too fast. Pretty convenient timing too with the whole Epstein birthday card and Trump being a rapist who at the very least knew about the sex trafficking of minors.

Considering half of Trump’s face is drooping, he has more issues to deal with.

    12. Trump never acknowledged the assassination and shootings of the two Minnesota state lawmakers.

Until they catch him, the motive is anyone’s guess. It is just as plausible that some MAGA gun nut decided he was going to start a civil war. Even more sinister is the notion that it was a GOP political operative, under someone’s direction, seeking to further divide the nation. Until they catch him, the motive is anyone’s guess.

    14. The hit looked professional.
Plus, Epstein was killed under the protection of Donald Trump’s DOJ

There is no occasion Trump and maga will not use to divide the country further. Its the only thing keeping them in power. Curious it comes at a time when the public was relatively unified on the Epstein issue

    16. It’s this kind of behavior that makes me feel Kirk was just a sacrificial lamb for the MAGA team to justify what’s to come. That shot was too clean. No college kid was doing that.

      But like, more so.

To those Americans who are in basic opposition to the agendas of Trump, Vance, Miller, Noem, the heritage foundation— do you think at this point, having captured all branches of government, with the full backing of the media and kleptocratic ownership class, that they’re going to leave willingly?

    18. MissingNebula on

Every time violence breaks out, no matter who the target, look at the response of those in leadership positions and with platforms.

Obama (and others on the left): condemns violence.
Trump (and others on the right): condemns the left…before we even know anything about the shooter or motives.

Condemning the so-called „radical left“ in itself is violent rhetoric. It makes Democrats out to be the „others“ and dehumanizes them. There will always be idiot nobodies on social media spouting crap on every political spectrum, but look specifically at the response of those in leadership positions and tell me who is spouting the violent rhetoric. The same people that have praised the likes of Alex Jones are now trying to claim violence only coming from the left. Give me a break.

    19. They don’t even know who did it and are screaming Leftists. As I recall, both “attempts” on Trump were from republicans.

    20. BradPitt182 on

Are we sure Trump didn’t orchestrate this? You know, to deviate the fact that he’s on the Epstein list?

    21. Donald Trump killed Jeffery Epstine. He’s not above doing this to Charlie Kirk to distract you.

    22. That was the plan the whole time. That’s why we don’t know who did it. Because they did it so they can declare war on dems. I wish republicans were this upset when school children get shot at school.

    23. guiltyas-sin on

This asshole wouldn’t offer comfort or support when democratic lawmaker Melissa Hortman, her husband and dog were assassinated. He didn’t demand flags fly at half staff either.
