I bet he would’ve been great, but it’s hard to imagine anyone other than Tom Hulce in the role now.
One of those things that would be worth a time machine is going to see him and Tim Curry on stage.

But he was alright with casting Ace Ventura in a lead role in another film, and he cast Courtney Love as a love interest… twice.
He would’ve been effing fantastic
