I’m prepared to offer as much sympathy to Charlie Kirk as he himself offered to victims of school shootings.

The most stupid part of this is that he posted it in a WhatsApp group full of freshers.

I don’t agree with killing people you disagree with, and I don’t agree with celebrating the killing of people for their politics.

However, Charlie Kirk was a free speech absolutist and said it was OK for people to say outrageous things. He would support this.

I don’t particularly care for Charlie Kirk, I actually think he’s a prick and that based on his comment that some Deaths are worth it to protect the 2nd amendment, I think there’s an almost karmic justice to him being a victim of it, few people would disagree that rather an absolutionist than a school child, if things magically worked like that, which they obviously don’t…

But real world talk rather than fantasy land, it’s another example of political violence which seems to be escalating and this will further inflame it, further lead to polarisation and lack of good faith debate, political trends in the USA have a nasty habit of spilling over here

So if I’m not mistaken:

Charlie Kirk spent the better part of a decade excusing and minimising shootings in the United States, claimed gun deaths are “worth it”, called empathy a weakness, and actively encouraged violence in the form of calling Paul Pelosi’s attacker a “hero”, & claiming that January 6th was not an insurrection attempt.

We don’t know the motivations of the shooter, but it strikes me that Charlie Kirk created the exact kind of atmosphere where a political assassination would be minimised. He even said that shootings should not be hijacked for political causes, but should be recognised as a natural part of living in the US.

I struggle to feel empathy for the man. I recognise his wife has lost a husband, and children have lost a father, and my heart really goes out to them, but Kirk himself wouldn’t want any empathy or compassion to his own death – at least judging from how he treated others’. The killing was completely unnecessary and an evil act for someone to commit.

And this student seemingly celebrated the shooting, not the killing, but both are unjustifiable actions and I hope there’s some form of reprisals involved.

We need to stop pretending that Charlie Kirk wasn’t a violent man, that he was killed for „having different opinions“, that he was just a polite guy that wanted to debate.

Charlie Kirk advocated for violence. Not direct violence but systemic, civic violence. A violence that is far more sinister, yet far more normalised.

When Charlie Kirk said that abortions are worse than the Holocaust, with the rest of his advocacy to outlaw abortion, he is advocating for a system that leaves pregnant women to die at home or on hospital beds, because their pregnancy when necrotic and a doctor is too scared to abort the dead fetus out of fear of prosecution. This is violence, this has already resulted in deaths, far more deaths than the one that was taken away yesterday.

When Charlie Kirk advocates for wider access to guns, he advocates for a system that allows mass murders to happen in school daily. This is violence.

When Charlie Kirk dismisses the brutality in Palesitne as a necessity of war and a factor of Israels self defense, he’s creating a culture where these deaths continue. This is violence.

Charlie Kirk was more than just some online personality. The Trump Admin credits him to winning the vote. He’s flown private jets with Trump and Vance. He had more influence in the party than any online weirdo could. That’s why Trump flew the flag half-mast whilst he had nothing to say about the two democrat law makers assassinated in their homes earlier this year. Kirk defended Pelosis‘ attacker.

Kirk was part of an admin that had two nazi salutes thrown at inauguration. Charlie Kirk was responsible for helping an admin that black bags legal citizens to send them off to foreign death camps win. He obfuscated this black bagging by calling them illegal, when they’re verifiably not. That is systemic violence.

Charlie Kirk was a violent man. Violent thoughts lead to violent words which lead to violent actions. A violent man, that promoted violence, was killed by violence.

It’s what a gun loving, woke hating Charlie Kirk would have wanted

Guys, a 21 year old we don’t know said something on their private Instagram account. What are we going to do about it?

I think we should honour Kirk by carrying on his message…

We should shun the sin of empathy. It’s what he’d want.
