    1. > Mescal remembered an incident that happened while he was greeting fans at the stage door in London following a performance of A Streetcar Named Desire. „This woman who’s probably in her 50s, I’m taking a photo with her and her daughter,“ Mescal explained. „She’s a fan. She says, ‚I loved Normal People, and I saw the play tonight.'“

      > „She puts her hands on the small of my back initially,“ he continued. „I’m standing there, and I kinda freeze, and it slides down to my bum. And I step away and I’m like, That was surely a mistake.“

      > „So, I step back in and I’m like, ‚Ooh, that was weird,'“ Mescal went on. „She puts her hand on my bum again, and I lose it. I was just like, ‚What are you doing?‘ Her daughter was standing right there. I freak out.“

Gross. That woman deserved to be called out over her predatory behavior. This type of treatment is why stars stop interacting with their fans.

    3. “Inappropriately”

That implies there’s a way to touch someone’s butt appropriately.

The wording of this headline would be grossly different if genders were reversed. Unwanted physical contact is bad equally.

    5. Good.

If more men snapped, stood up and put the foot down it might not happen as often.

Happens to a lot of dudes. I had it happen at work, reported it to HR. Guess who ended up leaving their job? Lmao you can’t win.

„Paul Mescal was sexually assaulted by a stranger and reacted appropriately.“

    8. As he fucking should?! If it was a female actress the world would’ve ended. Equality.

    9. If it happens to a man, it’s “he freaked out”. If it happens to a woman, it’s “she was sexual assaulted”. What the actual fuck?

    10. It is about being touched without your consent. It’s not about what you wore or your gender. It’s about the action not being consented to and it is absolutely appropriate to take self possession of your right to consent as a female or a man. (Said as a Mum of 2 now young adult children: a son and a daughter. If either of them do not want to be touched and do not consent you to touch them intimately… I stand behind them both while they demand that respect.). I respect Paul’s right to his body autonomy and having his consent.

    11. Good. I recently went to a meet and greet with a semi famous reality tv star that famously has a butt tattoo. Fans kept prodding him to show them and one time a woman literally grabbed his pants and ripped them down to try and get a video of the tattoo. It was disgusting and disappointing to watch. Fans treat celebrities worse than animals in a zoo. They’re people that deserve respect and space just like anyone else.

What a horrible title. It really should be „Man gets sexually assaulted and reacts accordingly“
