    1. What is this? Some mirror image of Japanese Occupation Comfort Women? USA became the very thing they sought to destroy?

I know this country isn’t perfect and never has been, but it feels like our morality is just plummeting

US has always been like this. They treat their so-called allies as lower than them. Philippines, Japan and Korea have US bases and rape cases are well-known.
For my third world country(Philippines), we have no choice but to ally with the US since they are the only once who can contain China.

Blue state taxpayers: YOUR tax money funds overseas army bases, which fuel the indecent assault.

The only way to stop funding American soldiers‘ immoral behavior is to secede.

    5. Because others are not reading the article.

Brothels ran between the 50’s and 80’s
Brothels were were „established, managed and operated“ by the SK government. They won their case against the SK government in 2022.
Plaintiffs are calling for an apology by the US armed forces and a monetary restitution of $7,211 USD per victim (117 total victims that have come forward).

I mean, Trump encapsulates American culture pretty well, so this really shouldn’t be surprising.

Hell, American soldiers stationed in Japan are still raping women, even underage kids like Trump, and so this is an actual tradition at this point. Japan also underreport cuz they don’t wanna embarrass Washington.

I would suggest people read „Welcome to the Monkey House“ to see how dark it gets.

Yeah so, I’m not endorsing this behavior at all.

However, you have to understand that our military is made up of what you would call „bad dudes.“

I remember reading one person say, „if you don’t give these guys entertainment, they will find their own.“ Which is why we have swimming pools and bowling alleys at some bases. Ft Hood to this day is notable for women disappearing a la Vanessa Guillen circa 2020.

I can imagine some commander in SK rationalizing this at the time as at least it could be supervised and controlled. Unfortunately, they probably saw it as the lesser evil.

    9. Genuinely curious, the SK government were the ones who ran these brothels. Does that not just make them local businesses that US soldiers happened to use?
