      * Shaun White and Nina Dobrev are going their separate ways. The champion snowboarder, 39, and *The Vampire Diaries* actress, 36, have ended their engagement and split after five years together, PEOPLE can confirm exclusively.
      * A source close to the pair says „it was a mutual decision, and wasn’t an easy one, but it was made with love and a deep respect for one another.“ White and Dobrev were last photographed together on Aug. 31, 2025 in Los Angeles, holding hands while running errands.
      * But on Sept. 7, Dobrev walked the red carpet of the *Eternity* premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival without her 5 carat diamond engagement ring. She’s also unpinned her engagement post, which has been a staple on the top of her Instagram since White popped the question in October 2024.

      I’m kind of not surprised after they chose the song Apocalypse by Cigarettes after Sex as the background to their engagement announcement. They seemed cute though.

      Knew this would happen. Even though I like Shaun white as a snowboarder, he was ALWAYS a cocky douchebag and Nina seems like a genuinely nice person.

      I mean unless you’re a one in a million couple like Kurt Russell and Goldie hawn or Freddie prince and SMG does any celebrity couple ever actually stay together till dead do them apart
