      Stay away Canada, it’s going to get heated in the next few months. Into a possible Civilian war.

      I would certainly hope so. If you’re a Canadian still travelling to the US you have issues.

      Happy to see this. I still see a lot of „friends“ on social media still going down for holidays, sports events etc. Pisses me off…glad most Canadians are better than my social circle.

      I always do at least one road trip a year…even to red states like Tennessee because i love the Smoky Mountains and do another trip to visit my cousins in Florida. Not going anytime soon now. 

      I’m brown. I could be at a home depot and suddenly get rounded up in Florida and be in El Salvador the next day. 

      You can’t really vacation if you dont feel safe.

      They aren’t doing a very good job of making it look like an attractive destination right now. What with all the fascism, national guard being deployed, chance of getting detained by ICE and what looks like the start of a civil war.

      You don’t have to do this every month. It’ll keep being down till the Orange Tyrant is no longer running the show and the tariff bullshit is removed. Also not going to start buying American booze, we have alternatives.

      I have a really good friend who moved to Texas from Canada about 10 years ago. She’s pretty upset that her friends and family in Canada don’t want to visit her now. I’m sure her other friends are like me and just don’t feel comfortable going there now.

      Cancelled Florida trip.
      Cancelled Vegas trip.
      Cancelled Hawaii trip.
      Soft plans to visit California have been forgotten.

      Americans will hopefully wake up and get their shit together. It’s like watching a friend come down with a mental illness.

      Our winter holiday planning this year went like this: what are our direct flight options, limited to timezones ±1 from home, excluding US. Oh hey, a new direct flight was just added to Costa Rica. And another to Jamaica…

      At least the US isn’t shooting down passenger planes overflying their territory yet (unlike Russia/Iran).

      Travel data like this should be a wake-up call for Republicans. It isn’t just partisan critics saying things aren’t normal right now – even allies and tourists are pulling back. When international travel shrinks this sharply, it’s an objective sign of how the U.S. is being seen from the outside.
