You still have to enter the station itself. It happens often enough that you have to wait a few minutes to let other trains leave the station.
for the final stop, it happens. For in-between train station, the train must wait at least until the departure time.

I was once on a train from Zurich to Munich that arrived like half an hour early. Maybe it’s just the Swiss aura.
Frankfurt > Würzburg a couple weeks ago, about 10 stops were cancelled for whatever reason on the trip, so we arrived in Würzburg almost 30 mins early, the conductor didn’t know what to say over the intercom

It seems great, but it’s even worse. Arrived 30 mins early once (no idea how), and it allowed for some mentally unstable guy to stroll into the train (bc it was sat doors wide open for 30 minutes) then run up and down the aisle screaming for help and slamming into glass doors. Ever since that I’ve come to realize i prefer being 30 mins late to 30 mins early
