    1. To that end ot’s a cost I’m certainly willing to pay. Seeing the details will be nice.

We’ve spent so much money on less important things.

    2. You just know the conservatives will say anything to try to spin this in their favor. Just hopefully the libs can hold their own this time around. Don’t just stick to facts. Play the blame game too.

I was wondering how the LPC would sell their massive deficit. Ah, of course, make it about ‚protecting sovereignty‘ or some nonsense like that. It worked for the election after all.

Reminder they delayed this budget because of ‚uncertainty‘ around US trade, well now 6 months later that uncertainty still exists so that pathetic excuse has expired.

    4. Austerity for public services, and bigger deficits for future generations. Carney is taking the worst aspects of the Chrétien/Martin and Trudeau eras.

The devil is in the details. What handouts and “partnerships” will be hidden behind the promise that this is the only option and must be done because “sovereignty”.

Canada could be like Norway or Saudi Arabia if it managed its natural resources better….thats what I want to see in the budget. To sovereignly own what rightfully belongs to every Canadian.

Canada is in a healthy fiscal situation (much healthier than our peers), and thus the government can afford to borrow at very low rates. With interest rates falling, now is the time to make investments into hard infrastructure that will provide us with dozens of years of economic growth.

The profit this infrastructure generates for Canada will most probably be more than enough to cover the interest charges.
