Wow looks great. One of my past lives, I had a hunt in northern AZ. Last one was 2019. Right during the rut. I didn’t tag out but had a week I’ll remember for a lifetime.
The craziest one was a herd of 30+ cow elk, and a few bulls were in a meadow as I watched from the treeline.
They all got spooked eventually.
I begin to hike to either leave or find the next herd. There was a cattle pond/wallow with a tall berm in the center of the meadow. As I approached, I heard distant bugles..I then heard splashing. I was confused but then put it together..theres a BULL RIGHT HERE. Despite the 8ft berm, he must have got my scent. Before I could see the water, i saw him booking it. It was awesome to see. Heartbreaking to see him go lol.
Last September, I also did a few OTC days in the Idaho Panhandle. Lived there for a bit too. Rugged. Miss it. Maybe I’ll go back.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Good luck.

So many elk. But using bow. Well, they do suffer.
