Whoopi Goldberg doesn’t think she’s in a place to pass up a paycheck.
The host of “The View” explained why she doesn’t see herself retiring any time soon while talking to Entertainment Tonight in an interview published Tuesday.
Asked if she ever thinks about “slowing down,” the Oscar-winner laughed and said, “Yeah, but who can afford to do that? You know, if you don’t marry well, you gotta keep working.”

Nonsense… she’s a very wealthy woman. That being said, reading q- cards for millions of dollars a year 4 days a week is good work if you can get it.
Celebrities are allowed to spend their money on themselves. She could also live within her means.
Bad financial planning is hard to be sympathetic of. How could you f up having millions of dollars for just being you and loose it. Perhaps it means she has to live like a normal person and just get by and have a retirement in the sun and die of old age, comfortably without suffering.

I remember always having to listen to a radio show (pre podcast era) with her on it and I always hated her politics – fuck Whoopie
So she makes millions of dollars every year and does not have money saved? That’s pretty pathetic.
Why the hell would she ever retire? “Working” as a celebrity personality on a daytime talk show isn’t what I’d call grueling, especially for 5-8$ million a year. For the equivalent amount per hour that she makes, I bet most of us would do some truly harrowing stuff. Guessing what she means is she’d have to live like the .01% instead of the .001% if she retired. Such sacrifice!
Her estimated net worth is at least 30 million.
