Hallo! Wir sind auf dem Weg nach Hause von einer Reise nach der Tschechischen Republik, derzeit an der deutschen Grenze. Es ist eine 8-stündige Fahrt, aber wir haben noch ein paar Tage Zeit und möchten die Fahrt in 3-stündigen Stücken teilen. Wir haben einen kleinen Van, damit wir entweder campen oder in die Stadt fahren und ein Zimmer buchen können. Nur hier, um sich bei den Einheimischen zu erkundigen, was schöne Stopps, nicht zu abgelegen, nicht zu touristisch wäre. Wir mögen tagsüber eine kleine Wanderung und essen und schauen Sie abends ein Nachtleben aus. Wir denken derzeit Würzburg / Köln, was denkst du? Prost!!

you could make small stops in Bayreuth and Bamberg. both have world heritage sites. Bamberg old town is very famous. Bayreuth has a gorgeous opera house in the city center and the famous Richard Wagner opera. for hiking I recommend fränkische schweiz (the area between the two towns) you get amazing beer and landscape there.
Würzburg is also very nice, especially for wine lovers.

I could recommend Koblenz and the castles along the Rhein and Mosel. If you like wine you have to visit the Mosel.
In Cologne i can recommend Lommerzheim, Puszta-Hütte and Nehring. There is a ton to discover and to explore in Cologne.
