    1. Listed as a scheduled monument, I assume that we’re going to be prosecuting the perpetrators then?

Nothing says „defending English culture“ like defacing a historic monument.

It’s the most effort they’ve put into anything since learning to spell “immigration.”

These twats are now damaging pieces of English / British history with this stupid flag nonsense.

Given the government is going after Banksy for painting a listed courthouse, I’m sure we’ll see just as much of an investigation into the attack on this listed monument, right?

And of course all the people who were incensed at JSO throwing soup at a Van Gogh painting will be up in arms about this too, right?

It’s a symbol of imperialism and colonialism and therefore racism. It’s like the American confederate flag.

If Just Stop Oil had done this the right whingers would have been frothing at the mouth. More than usual.

      >Wiltshire police said no crime had been committed after red fabric appeared on the Westbury white horse

Yeah, this is fabric and no crime committed according to the first line in the article. Disagree strongly with going about the flag in this manner but it’s so weird seeing the two-faced nature ongoing here. If it was someone doing this and labelling it as art? It’s hailed.

Exact same thing, wrong fullstop to vandalise monuments and old buildings imo.

Edit: For clarity, I think this **should** be considered criminal, and the offenders charged. Didn’t actually put this forward when I wrote, apologies for confusion there.

    8. Personally I’m not bothered if people want to paint shitty crosses on a roundabout… but I draw the line on the horse.

Paint on a listed building you get 10 years, do this and it’s patriotic

      Can we just not.

Did somebody take their strappy long-sleeve coats off and let them out again?

That’ll be antifa or leftist sabotage or flag campaign. Trying to put the movement into disrepute.

Some silly bollocks has painted a red cross on a fridge that is waiting to be picked up by the scrap man on our street!

    13. Far enough on roundabouts, but on a national monument is too much. This is pure vandalism.

    14. They said their assessing damage but not if there was any. If there wasn’t and it was just fabric then I see no issue, just as I see no issue with flags on lampposts. I do however have issue with criminal damage by painting roundabouts or if there is damage to this monument.

‚Imagine if just stop oil/ muslims/ jews/ blah blah had done this!‘

We clearly agree that anyone who does this is foolish and should be criminally prosecuted, but anyone who genuinely thinks that a public outcry against acts like these are heightened when other groups do this is simply a result of xenophobia, hypocrisy, etc. is burying their head in the sand.

Yes this is shameful, but do you really think this sends the same message as the white horse being covered in an Israeli or Palestinian flag?

    16. Oh they can fuck right off now. And then fuck off some more. And when they have fucked off that far… they can keep fucking off until they forget what the rolling hills of England look like

    17. I bet the people who did this were absolutely fucking furious at Just Stop Oil. Double or nothing they don’t realise their own hypocrisy
