    1. Are they willing to sign long-term contracts that at least share the risk of stranding assets?
If not, what are we even talking about.
If yes, then sure, get on with it.

Funny, I seem to recall a Prime Minister not that long ago saying there’s no business case, after the leader of Germany asked for LNG? And didn’t that Prime Minister say something about Hydrogen on the East Coast? Whatever happened with hydrogen?

Oh well. Its not as though Canada needs all those high paying jobs and royalties anyway. I mean, the unemployment rate is so low, the budget has been balanced as far back as I can remember, and our services are already top notch and fully funded.

Bargain for cheap wine with the French, they’ve got loads of very primo stuff.
Cut a deal for Spanish Olive Oil in exchange for Canadian Crude.
We could all use some high quality English weather gear, say two coats and a hat for every barrel.

There is a great opportunity for Canada in Europe. We should also get a free-trade arrangement so that Canadians can work and move freely like their European counterparts. This would be a boon to Canada.

Yes and right now the US is buying from Canada and selling it to them because carney won’t let them do it directly

The EU has some of the most stringent climate policy in the world and a long-term energy transition plan, to such an extent that it is implementing border carbon tariffs in 2026.

AB is going to need to clean up its act, stop fighting methane regulations, double down on CCS, and either accept a higher industrial carbon charge or the implementation of GHG caps, should it wish to export to Europe.

Reminder: Canadian bitumen has some of the highest emissions of any oil in the world.
