Just call them tomorrow. Maybe there was a communication issue between insurance providers or something, who knows. Letter does not say, and you’re unlikely to find someone on reddit who knows the specifics about your case.

    2. I had a similar problem a few months ago. I am from Austria and got sick in Belgium. There was a communication issue and they could not fix it afterwards. Wish you more luck!

    3. Top right in yellow marker says „valid European Health Insurance Card required“ so I assume that something with the health insurance card didn’t work out. You might want to ask them or pay and get a refund with your health insurance (but better to ask them first if you should do it like that)

With insurance in Austria this would be completely covered. Without it this would be what you pay. Also the last item (138,13€) here basically says surcharge to reach the minimum fee for an outpatient treatment according to law. This is the actual minimum for such treatments. But again, they didn’t use your health insurance at all it seems.

If you are insured in Austria and don’t have to stay overnight, you are usually not charged anything. At least as far as the hospital itself goes, don’t know about the ambulance though.
At the previous accidents my sons had, during vacations we were able to drive them on our own.

Apparently, there’s been an issue with your insurance card. In the top right, it says: valid EHIC (=European Health Insurance Card) required… So if they’ve already seen said EHIC, perhaps there’s been a mix-up with the documentation… You should try and call them. Or maybe you have to pay it right now and get the money back from your insurance at home. All the best!

Without an overnight stay? Nothing. And you shouldn’t too, normally.
They highlighted the „Valid EHIC (European health insurance card) required“ so I guess you either didn’t give them your card or you did but somehow it wasn’t „valid“.

      Has anyone a ‚Leistungsnachweis'(insurance report)
with a similar position and can look up,how much the insurance has to pay for this type of problem?

@op We haven’t to pay for things like that,it is covered by insurance and you get an anual report about the insurance benefits.

    8. In Austria you would pay nothing with a valid insurance. What I know it is common practice to send out bills to foreigners and let them get the money back from their insurance. That’s what they tell the people in my area at least.

Funfact: A guy I know used to work with public health insurance and was always raging how cheap our bills were compared to the bills we got from other countries.

This is why i always have travel insurance even if i travel in europe.

    10. Have you contacted your insurance and are they aware of the situation? Would definitly go this route first to sort out any potential forwarding issues. If your assumption is that the services should be covered they should handle this.

I think you simply have to give this bill to your health insurance in your EU country.

    12. Off Topic:
