i mean, its obviously very Anime™, and very norse inspired as well.
The clothes could be done better, but they’re alright.
The shield is alright, not entirely norse style, but plausible.
My biggest problem is the axe. Thats not a good battle axe, the head is too large and heavy to be held like that. That thing is not wieldy.
Eh, seen far worse, don’t really care too much about it either way.
Their interpretation is colored by both Japanese culture, their beliefs of what a Viking looks like, the need to satisfy the fandom itself and their wish to make a character with enough eyecandy to warrant looking at.
She is exposing her most vulnerable parts to cold and steel. If her Areteria Femuralis doesn’t get cut and bleed her, she’ll get UTI and be out of the fight.
It does not look like an authentic viking, that is all I can say.
Lots of very stereotypical aspects of Norse culture (the skjoldmøy/valkyrie helmet, big axe etc.), to say it’s very anime would be an understatement.
I do however like the blue colouration
It’s Norwegian viking like Norwegian taco is taco.
An utterly inauthentic but very sincere take. Probably hits its intended audience just right.

Thank you for reminding me of this game! Ys is one of my favorite game series, I was so excited to see a nordic inspired installment ♡ Sure it might not be 100% authentic looking or accurate, but who cares tbh. It’s interesting seeing how they interpret our culture!

Looks realistic. Only needs a horned helmet, braided hair and tattoos to be 100% realistic.
I like it, but I am also slightly weeb.
