Ireland has just over half the land area of England and less than a tenth the population.
There are definitely issues with housing availability, public services etc, but „crammed“ is not the right word for it.
Also, Jesus would be very disappointed in this man’s attitude, from what I remember of the Bible.

Meh. Immigration should be limited until housing supply catches up but I wouldn’t give Christians a free pass just because they’re Christian. Christians need places to live too and we ain’t got them.

I’m atheist and the idea of large numbers of very religious people entering this country worries me.
I’ve had to go to mass a few times in the past year due to funerals and on two occasions, the two different Priests used it as a way to decry the war and suffering of people in Ukraine and Palestine.
And one lad here goes the other way and it makes the papers. I suppose it helps for the clicks.

It’s so weird how on this sub if there’s a thread unrelated to immigration but has a whiff of religion the „God botherer“ insults are everywhere (Katie Taylor recently for example) and then when it’s about immigration the sub wants vast numbers of god botherer Muslim but expect no trouble. You know the average Muslim is far more closely aligned to the Burkes than they are to you, yeah?

The country moved away from being overly religious and now will be interesting to see how it will handle a huge influx of very religious people in a very short span of time. I hope posters here will keep the same energy when eventually we will need to deal with child marriages, arranged marriages (forget that, it already exists), women rights and crime increases in certain areas (just like France, Sweden, Germany)
