      So long as the governors mobilize militia against the upcoming federal occupations of Democratic cities.

      Otherwise anything we do as citizens could be interpreted as seditious and traitorous to the United States and that has its own problems.

      It sounds like just another big protest. Those have been working great.    

      Vague talk about a general strike shows that the writer doesn’t know what a general strike is.     Successful general strikes are always organized and carried out by **labor unions** and only in countries that have strong labor movements with a large percent of the population unionized.   Part of the reason for this is that for a general strike to be effective it has to last for a week or more and there needs to be a big enough strike fund so families that live paycheck to paycheck can survive.     The United States does not have the right conditions to support an effective general strike.

      Don’t despair. Don’t give up. Don’t do nothing. Fighting fascism is better than dying on your knees. We need everyone to do what they can no matter how bleak things seem. I still believe a large popular movement can make change.

      Can I just take a minute to point out how immature fascism is? Be nice to others, don’t hit, don’t take things that don’t belong to you. Like this is shit you learn in preschool. I just want to point out these are not adult functioning humans. This type of behavior should make you very angry. I just see so many people complicit and tolerant of abuse who don’t seem to get angry and just let it happen. I feel we are going to have to start getting comfortable with challenging authority. They don’t know everything and as I pointed out, they don’t understand concepts of empathy that are easily understood by a toddler.

      Part of me believes that the American public has already surrendered. They decided that as long as they can still get the latest iPhone and shop at the mall that it’ll be ok to lose democracy. They’ll go about their lives and make no waves and it’ll be the same as before. But they are deluding themselves and if they don’t start paying attention it’ll be generations before a stable democracy returns.

      1 million people in DC plus protests around the country on Oct 18th and continuing. Tha’s the first real concrete idea I’ve heard in awhile and I think it sound like a great plan.

      The time for action (actual action, not idle protest) was during the orange one’s first term, but Americans just shrugged as experts and people with lived experience warned them what was coming. The longer you all either do nothing or outright comply, the more inevitable violence and bloodshed will become. This was a tumour you should have rooted out before it hit your nation’s vitals.

      It’s understandable to feel overwhelmed. It’s okay to have questions. But be very wary of any leader who tells you to trust only their sources. That isn’t freedom; that’s a cage. A free person gathers information from multiple verifiable sources.

      That’s why seeking answers for yourself is the most powerful thing you can do. Here’s a straightforward guide to help you find the truth.

      -1. Check More Than One Source: Don’t rely on a single news channel or website. If a story is legitimate, it will be reported by multiple, diverse outlets. Look for the evidence firsthand videos, photos, and actual documents.

      2. Find the Original Source: See a shocking video or picture? Ask, Where did this originally come from? You can right click an image and use Search with Google Lens to see if it’s an old image being used out of context.

      3. Listen to Experts, Not Loudmouths: Trust organizations that employ journalists who do actual fact checking and on the ground reporting. Places like the Associated Press (AP) and Reuters report straight facts to news organizations of all kinds. If someone is just yelling opinions without providing proof, they are likely trying to sell you something.

      4. Use Your Common Sense: If a story sounds too outrageous to be true like a massive conspiracy that would require thousands of people to keep a secret , it probably is. The simplest explanation is usually the correct one. Think about it: when have that many people ever been able to keep a secret for long?

      5. Ask, What’s In It For Them?: This is the most important rule. Always ask, If I believe this, who benefits? Who gains money, power, or influence? Ask this question about everyone politicians, influencers, and news networks. Follow the money.

      Stay aware. Stay sharp. Our future depends on it.

      I remember years ago when we were saying this everybody would just say “you can’t call everything fascism, or a nazi, it takes away from the word when everyone if fascist or a Nazi” now look where we are. Great job liberals.

      Edit: One I remember specifically was Jon Stewart. That one hurt a little bit.
