    1. Have you heard about this thing called “the velocity of money”? Observe a master class in slamming the brakes.

    2. So this is actually Americans ordering less from abroad. People don’t post things to the US for the sake of it. It’s people literally stopping ordering things they want.

So if their theories are correct, the internal mail from US suppliers should be booming to take up the slack, right? Right?

    3. Finally USPS will be profitable… after massive layoffs.. oops… pensions…nevermind

Anyone in US ordering internationally have found out US has become isolationist country thanks to Trump.

The longer this continue it will bring negative impact that dumb Trump never envisioned.

    5. subjekt_zer0 on

Somehow, Trump will be spared the worst of whatever comes from this too

    6. Now all the simps who have been touting how well the economy is doing will hopefully finally realize the shitshow we’re in with full tariff effects.

And it’s clear itt who actually read the article, and who are sheep just here to drag the USPS in the name of the Great Orange Gasbag

I just stopped ordering shit and I’m taking a second pass on appreciating what I’ve already got. I can wait this shit out.

    8. not just USPS.

Social media people who have small businesses, who voted for Trump, complaining about $90k import tariff bills.

    9. CatPesematologist on

I’m not buying anything right now. No idea what the tariff is or will be. Not sure if it can be delivered. I tried to order some things before tariff that I expected to need. Now I’m just protesting and hoping for a new administration that will fix the coming recession.

businesses can’t plan, people can’t plan when fiscal policy is left up to the demented whims of one person with no pushback from anyone else who has power.

i seriously don’t get how all the republican business people are cool with this. Do they just assume they will be fine by bribing Trump and getting tax cuts? I guess it’s just the fascist oligarchs who will realistically be better off. the rest of maga is just being lured with lies and propaganda to the slaughter.

Was going to order couple items from TEMU today. They would have shipped from a warehouse in the U.S., at about the same item price as what I paid on Amazon. Since I have Prime, free shipping was the decider. TEMU needs to get that solved, they won’t be getting those low international postal rates anymore.

    11. All according to plan. They’re intentionally choking off the USPS in order to sell it for parts and privatize the mail service as a shitty for-profit service.

If someone desperately needs to ship stuff to the US, what are some non-American shipping companies they can use?

    13. MarqueeMarc86 on

Trump will claim the US postal service is losing/costing too much and sell it to one of his cronies with an insane government contract. All the while he’ll get “kick-backs” from said person/company. You watch. The biggest fucking crook of all time.

    14. These stats are a conservatives wet dream.

„See? Trump is right! 80% of em are freeloading socialists!“

There was a redditor (u/Glittering_Guitar448)  asking about shipping a small package to the US from NZ.

      2″ x 4″ x 6″ & about half a pound. Worth US$35.

Postal cost used to be about US$20

      UPS wanted ~US$160-$200

There is a saying in NZ „Yeah nah“

    16. Enshittified Temu junk is really bad for the planet. Hopefully this steers manufacturers from foreign countries to market more durable, higher quality, and more expensive products for us that will replace planned obsolescence Temu variants seen today.

Good, hope they learn something from the way they voted. But they won’t.

All of these cuts would be fantastic if the US was getting rid of its debt.

Yet somehow Trump cuts everything and the debt goes up anyway. What a joke…

Horrible but not surprising, the stats on step parents and abuse are absolutely insane. They put Boy Scouts and churches to shame

No idea who’s downvoting this but when it comes to teen abuse and step parents its like 1 in 4 teens

Here’s trump being good for global warming! Fewer ships for trade! Americans don’t need as much crap as they have happily been running up their credit cards for.

trump warned Americans they only need one doll. Notice he didn’t tell men they also have to do without.

I was going to donate a couple of external DVD drives to charity, but now I think I’m going to wait and sell them for more than I paid.

    25. They’re working hard to identify every single way they can to kill the Postal Service.
