      I didn’t know the cost of artificial chemicals, and sweeteners for the chemical sugar water were going up.

      One would think with the self-serve option of the drink bar, and the large-scale manufacturing of such poison that the price of the drink bar would indeed have stayed the same.

      I hope this trend does not catch on elsewhere.

      And, Saizerya’s portions suck! Too tiny. It’s like I’m feeding a kitten.

      Pinch every yennie!

      The Japanese dad was right to confront the server! He should lodge an official complaint.

      got food poising bad there once, I avoid them now. all I ate was a damn salad

    3. I mean, smart moves all around here. Good on the guy for calling out ambiguous wording. Good on the guy for pressing the issue and not just folding to the ever-so-common „it is what it is because that’s how it is.“

      Company made a smart move too – doesn’t matter if it was deliberate or not. If it was an honest mistake in wording/training, etc, then clarifying it and offering refunds to people affected is the best move. No one keeps receipts from Saize, especially not going as far back as 2019, so they stand to need to refund very little, if any, money over this. They look good for meeting it head on.

      Even if it WAS deliberately worded to be ambiguous and it was a „we’ll make money for as long as no one brings it up,“ – the reaction is the exact same and the result is the exact same.

      Now all we need is someone to write a three-page letter to izakaya execs to rectify why my two-hour nomihoudai has a last order at ninety minutes.

      It seems that they didn’t bother to respond to him directly, though.

      They just put a message on their website.

      He went out of his way to be polite in his letter. The lack of a direct response to the guy seems rude and insincere.

      I have went to this restaurant multiple times, and have been left disappoint each visit.

      He sounds like he is just being annoying. It’s common knowledge that such discounts even for children should be with adults order or child item. That’s the whole reason for the discount. There is not misunderstanding here, and he clearly was a repeat customer who already knew this as well.

    7. You mean you can order drink bar like we do 単品 , cheaper than vending machine and with free air-conditioning too

      It’s the epitome of the problem of Japanese business. Highlighting super minor issue while overlooking the core one.
