The states must absolutely take this seriously and start creating mobilization plans for their defense because when Trump says, „go“, it’s too late.

    2. This is flat out insane. Trump threatening to “war” Chicago.someone needs to call him back to reality. Fast

For someone who dodged war when he had the opportunity to participate, he certainly is a bellicose individual.

Does Trump realize this implies Trump is a fair military target?

“Voice Over: There must be more to life than having everything,” the note began.

Donald: Yes, there is, but I won’t tell you what it is.

Jeffrey: Nor will I, since I also know what it is.

Donald: We have certain things in common, Jeffrey.

Jeffrey: Yes, we do, come to think of it.

Donald: Enigmas never age, have you noticed that?

Jeffrey: As a matter of fact, it was clear to me the last time I saw you.

Donald: A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.

      Get it?

Donald: We have certain things in common, Jeffrey
Donald: A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.

      How about:

Donald: We have things in common, Jeffrey
A pal wonderful…. and may every day be another wonderful secret.

Almost like there’s a House of Representatives and a Senate who should be in a position to handily deal with this.

      They just choose not to.

I hope I learn the dress code for the civil war….because it sure feels more likely than I ever thought possible.

The thing with the Trump administration is that they’ve shown their cards and have admitted they don’t expect people to push back. They laid out their plans for the world to see.

The protesters are just the first response. They are literally dealing with the most armed population in the world, and citizens outnumber servicemen 100-to-1. This is a fight they can start, and perhaps gain some momentum in, but they would be foolish to push to its limits.

    9. These threats need to be taken seriously by State elected leaders before it’s too late to stop this creeping martial law.

And the „don’t tread on me“ crowd continues to cheer and lick boots. No thought given that it’s against the constitution to use troops against citizenry.

    11. Trump will find out firsthand why only an idiot would *literally* „make war“ on an American city for political reasons.

Trump wants to commit War Crimes against Humanity on his home soil and I fear he’s planning to turn Chicago into his own Gaza.

I’m honestly starting to worry that the first country Trump would use nukes on is his own.

„Don’t resist ICE or Trump will send in the Border Patrol“

„Don’t resist the Border Patrol or Trump will send in the National Guard“

„Don’t resist the National Guard or Trump will send in the Federal Troops“

      Well, now what?

Someone is gonna find out why the police were so afraid of the Black Panthers in Chicago that the police literally assassinated the local chapter leader in 1969, Fred Hampton. Learn about the Black Panthers and the dream of a Rainbow Coalition ya’ll.

Hope some of them are still around and ready to lead.

    16. He’s drooling at the thought that the civilians will retaliate so that he can justify further military escalation in our cities.

    17. Republicans are foreign occupiers.  Fight back by voting them out of office wherever they hold it.

    19. These fucking Nazi scumbags are threatening and celebrating war on the city that I live in, and Reddit has threatened me with a ban for using „harassing language“ to tell them they are pieces of human shit for it.

Donald Trump threatening war against a US city in a US state is an act of aggression against Americans. He is a domestic enemy. He needs to be treated as such.

    21. Just unbelievable that we have a president who is a threat to our lives. Really tired of where we are and how quickly we got here. Just sickening.

If an American soldier guns down an American citizen this country will explode

    23. President threatening war against his own country. President of peace my ass.

    24. permalink_save on

Social media is deemed official communications so literally, the president has just declared civil war on the country. They can’t spin this, it’s not a „meme“, he just posted a direct threat to a US city to use military force on it, and stated that it is war. How this isn’t grounds for impeachment and immediate removal who the fuck knows. This isn’t funny, it’s not old man Trump and hits crazy talk, this is a declaration of war.

    25. Once-and-Future on

So the President of the United States just issued a declaration of War against Chicago, and by extension anyone who has not declared secession from the US (the only circumstance it would be valid to declare war against some part of the US)

Does that mean that the Feds have declared secession from the United States?

    26. No-Cup-8096 on

Trump declaration is a treasonous act by a president! 25th amendment remove. Trump.

    27. PotluckPony on

In what universe is this not considered a declaration of civil war? Why does no one want to say the obvious? I know journalists are paid to be disingenuous cowards, so they won’t state the obvious unless it comes with a paycheck. But, between LA, and Chicago?

The United States is literally at war with itself. This is one sided civil war, where one side has all the military power and resources, while only SOME members of the other side have the integrity, or are mentally present enough, to attempt a rescue of the union from it’s manufactured death spiral.

There’s no scenario where this ends well. If you still think this ends peacefully? I’m sorry, but I think you’re naive. The only people who still believe that must not have lost family members to ICE, yet. Must be people who aren’t at risk of being kidnapped by the government. I know everyone wants to be optimistic. Everyone wants to believe there’s a path out of this without violence. But the violence is already here. It’s hanging right above our heads. It’s kidnapping and killing your neighbors.
