      I’m travelling out west (by Yellowstone) and yesterday we listened to another table (full of Wisconsinites) tell the waiter what a mess Chicago is. Held my tongue but wanted to scream „bitch, Milwaukee’s murder rate is higher than Chicago’s…by a lot.“

      Democrats are pointing out crime is down across the board and instead of Trump claiming that as President he’s lowered crime blah blah he’s instead claim the cities are more violent because of his tenure requiring an unprecedented deployment despite crime being no where close as it was in the 70s and 80s. 

      In fact the only time crime rose since the 90s was under Trump.

      What I always fail to see whenever I see any of these stories are why (or was there) any push back or follow up questions/statements from the press when these things are said in the moment at all? Or are these guys running to their keyboards to report what these folks are saying and then typing out „but they’re wrong and here are the stats.“

      Take St Louis murder rates with a big grain of salt, as the city of St Louis is a small part of the St Louis metro area which happens to contain a lot of the poorest neighborhoods. And it’s not a red city, it’s very much a blue city in a red State.

      We are essentially telling the admin „okay, we believe your reasoning for invading Chicago, but we think your data is wrong. This is where you should be invading instead“.

      This is just a distraction from the ICE and Border Patrol raids he’s planning. Everyone is talking about the national guard coming in but they’re not gonna do shit. It’ll be like DC where the National Guard are just there to hold automatic rifles menacingly and pick up garbage. If they do checkpoints or anything else it’s just theater.

      Meanwhile ICE is coming through to kidnap anyone with a vaguely Latin American-sounding name. That’s the real mission here.
