Water fast? Sounds like a dumb idea. Don’t do this to yourself.
Good thing you didnt get to 0 BPM
Mine dropped to almost zero during my 10 day air fast.
By „water fast“ do you mean „not drinking water“ or „only drinking water and not eating“?
Why the fuck would you do a water fast?
A water fast sounds like a horrible thing to do to your body
It was low to begin with, and you managed to get it into near-dangerous territory. Good job.
How was your blood sugar monitored? I imagine it got pretty low.
10 days. Well done!
So many dumb comments here saying water fast is bad. A simple Google search will fix that.
But…. But food is so yummy!
to everyone reading – DO NOT TRY THIS, unless follwoed by a doctor, this is seriously dangerous.
The human body is an evolutionary marvel of homeostasis. Maybe a few days without food was normal over thousands of years ago, so I’m curious what a 10 day starvation simulation adds to health benefit?
How did you feel during it? Did you notice at around 48 hours you stopped feeling hungry? How much weight did you lose?
How do you get started with a 10 day? Work up one day at a time ?
How was breaking the fast like and what did bpm do?
Fasting is kinda nonsense. Just eat a balanced diet and do regular exercise. The potential consequences of fasting can be extreme and highly damaging. They offer no real benefit and have many risks. So much pseudoscience around it.
Man, your heart rate was pretty strong even before your fast. Nice. Ignore these knuckle draggers.
Y axis is IQ? or did I read that wrong
Nice work! Nothing can beat the energy levels and mental clarity post fast
The autophagy and ketosis benefits of fasting are compelling to me. It’s interesting that it also took your RHR down to the level you see in competitive athletes – that’s not a benefit I expected, but not surprised.
Regarding your confusion over people’s hostile reactions – it’s human nature to be reactive to models of the world that don’t align with their preconceived notions. Especially if a person feels their identity is being threatened by said model. We could do better as a species when it comes to teaching healthy skepticism and avoiding biases like motivated cognition.
Facinating. I would be interested to see how long it takes for RHR to return to pre-fast levels. Did you add electrolytes to the water you drank during your fast? I have read there are many benefits to fasting but have not attempted one myself due to willpower, work, active lifestyle,.. but very cool to see your data
„Check it out guys, I had moderate chronic bradycardia but then I stopped eating for a week and a half and it got way worse!“
